Day Seventy-Nine!

Another simple doodle as most people would probably call it. I’m loving this combination though. I think it is probably the contrast I am so excited and attracted too not to mention I always have loved a bright pop of color. Right now the pink happens to be that color, obviously. So just a quick reminder Open Studios in Hull are happening soon. It is the weekend of July 7th and 8th. I will only be participating on the 8th since one of my besties is getting married on the 6th and it is going to be an amazing time! Which ultimately means Saturday = Recoup time. Anyway enjoy and I will see you tomorrow!

Day Seventy-Six!

Today was a bit of an experiment with layering. I went to the Cohasset Art Fair today which opened at 2pm and went through the tent to look at all the artwork. This was the show I had tried to get into. I actually think that my pricing may have been too high for a lot of the show, seems like if you don’t have a name for yourself you works should not cost over $600 and all of mine did. Oh well you live and learn. I did see one really interesting mixed media piece which inspired me to cut up the paper (which has absolutely no significance to me, it was a Citibank credit card brochure). Also, while I was there I ran into an old friend, Mr. Rodger Tirrell, who most of my friends know as our art teacher from High School. It is always such a pleasure to chat with him. Anyway, as I said before this was just an experiment and far from a completed piece. Anyway, Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Day Sixty-Eight!

Well today’s my birthday and look at that I still managed to make the time to draw and post. My day was crazy busy though and filled with wonderful surprises, wishes and people. Funny how turning 26 is not NEARLY as exciting as turning 25 however, having it be my birthday is pretty phenomenal! Anyway, I tried to start this earlier in the day before work but as usual I could not finish it until tonight and even that was a struggle. Not because the drawing was difficult or unenjoyable because I did enjoy drawing this morning, but the Celtics game is on and I’m ready to throw my shoe at the tv. I know I shouldn’t be watching basketball while I draw but it is a kinda important game so I had to. Anyway, Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Day Sixty-Five!

Day 65, WAAAAHOOO only 300 more to go. Look at that for a milestone. The next major one will be day 100. Like yesterday I was just drawing with a pencil and graphite sticks and was really enjoying developing a completely abstract shape. Unlike yesterday I was in my house on a couch not enjoying the weather so much. It is awesome weather outside however extremely windy and wet which doesn’t make for good conditions to expose paper to. Another long day tomorrow. Hopefully, things will go as smooth as today! Day Sixty-One!

Just a quickie after work! Not too crazy about this image but it will do for today. I loved how it looked before I added the pen and once I added the pen I just kept adding… it is kind of like word vomit but in painting/drawing terms. Well enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Day Fifty-Five!

Well today was a printing day, first time in a while and god with the outcome I had completely believable. Basically, when I was working the plate the aquatint did melt or hold up. Either way the entire plate ended up open biting which I kind of suspected might be happening but it’s totally fine. I brought it home and taped it down and it is currently being watercolored and drawn on top of. The images bellow are a bit different from the normal because although I was working today there was no finished product. According to my rules for what this blog is that is completely fine though. I did include a picture of the open bit state and a glimpse of where it might be going. The plate itself is SO far from done I plan to work it more next week making sure to ensure the stability of the aquatint first! Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Day Fifty-four!

Busy day today even though my work day was short. Tried to spend as much of my morning outside as possible so I brought the puppies on Adventures. I’ve learned that my dogs are out of shape especially Tayto who decided he was tired after the length of 3 houses. Needless to say I guess we need to go on more proper walks. Anyway this image is something I have been working on for a little bit. I don’t really think it is done by any means but it has been such a carefree go to piece when I don’t know what to do with the other images. I do like the bottom half of this a lot. Day Thirty-Two


Wow, today was a great day. It was my day off and past the fact that I got to sleep in, the actual day was very inspiring. Once my mother and I had taken Tayto and Gracie to the groomers, we headed to the French Bakery which is  super cute and delicious. After, we went out to the nursery (plants not children) and we were trying to find something to fill the void that the two trees left. I was so sad the other day when we had them taken down but I’m so happy to have two new trees coming! Granted we probably won’t ever see them full-grown but that’s ok I’ll still love them! We must have been at the nursery for like ever (not my doing) but I found it very inspirational and I even took a bunch of photos of different plants. Those pictures were the inspiration for my final piece today, which even my husband commented on (which is a pretty good after me bothering him every night for 31 days saying “look at this one”).  Anyway, I’m happy to say that this image is actually being posted before 10pm and that gives me time to have a date night with the hubby! Could Thai food be in my future? Fingers Crossed. See you tomorrow.

That’s my cutie Tayto with his new haircut. The groomer tried to make him look like the famous Boo from online.

Day Thirty-one!

Busy Busy day and when I got home I sat myself down with a margarita and started working on a drawing from the other day that I was not very excited about. Well as usual I had much more fun altering the image from the original and I’m curious what another iteration might bring to the image. So on another note, today it the first day of a new month! One month down 11 more to go! WOO HOO! Excited for the month of May. One quiet weekend away planned and hopefully even a print project is in the future! See you tomorrow!
