This image looks as if Lady Boo Boo (my dog) did Shrooms. Just for all the animal lovers out there I did not give my dog drugs, I just painted her in a landscape that is somewhat hallucinogenic. I started this image a while ago and have been slowly developing it. It still feels unfinished but unfortunately for me I have a deadline and you do what you can. I can always rework it later. Now this is an image that has been slowly in progress for a while. I struggled towards the end and really feel that the upper left is incomplete but at this point I’m going to call it and if in the future I decide I want to tackle the image again I will. Enjoy and see you next time!
Seriously could my imagery be more all over the place. I think I am starting to scramble for ideas, pulling from all different directions or ideas that float through my head on any given day. I mean I had been thinking of children’s stories and how there are always witches that try to eat children. Naturally I felt inclined to paint a witch face at that very moment. It’s another image I am uncomfortable with probably because it’s a human. I never feel confident with these silly human images! Enjoy and see you next time.
This was loosely based on a self-portrait I took weeks ago. I had wrapped up for the winter weather and loved the way my eyes looked peering through all the layers. As my mother pointed out, it has references topics which make people uneasy but I think/hope people can look past that. I tried to dive into the patterning and line work. There is something I really enjoy about the version which contains watercolor. It feels so different from anything I have done before. Enjoy and see you next time.

Foxes are pretty darn amazing or should I say fantastic. After watching the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox (absolutely worth watching) I naturally decided that I would integrate a fox into my imagery this weekend. If you have ever seen a video about foxes diving for mice under the snow you will understand just how amazing their hunting/hearing skills really are. This image was an attempt at merging the furry critter with my abstract world. Not exactly successful but on the right track. I accidentally made it look like the branches are impaling the fox (not my intention). Unfortunately this leads down the road of a hunting more than I would ever like to go down. I guess I will have to do a bit more pre-planning on the next piece. Enjoy and see you next time!
This was the image I referred to in my previous post. Another image in which I reverted to an earlier body of work/style. This one took a different approach though. focusing primarily on the hands you get a very strange feeling when you look at this. The hands are distorted and strange but it forces me to really look at it. Enjoy and see you next time.
