Day One Hundred and one!

Brilliant night, relaxing drawing, perfect day all around really. Oddly enough no real drama happened today except for going through some really old photographs of friends and family that I have realized could possibly be used to my advantage! Just Kidding everyone! Anyway it’s off to bed, enjoy and goodnight!

Day Ninety-Eight!

Love this! I’m sure it could use a bit more depth but I was very content with the current state of things. I’m just trying to catch up a bit on the images since I had such a busy weekend. Weddings, family cookouts, working and Open Studios, I’m surprised I did as much as I have! Anyway, Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Day Eighty-Two!

Another Day another carving. It’s funny how once I start working on images that are from relief prints how obsessed I get. Absolutely loving this stamp even if it is a bit simple. Above is an image of the carved stamp itself as well as the print of it with a small flourish of color. I have been working on some greeting cards for an upcoming open studios tour that is happening in July. I always have to have something in a smaller price range that people actually don’t feel bad about buying since it can be used for another purpose. Functional art I guess. On a side note one of my very good friends just got engaged and I wanted to say Congrats to Laura and Lee, I’m so excited for the two of you! Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Day Forty-One

Similar project today as yesterday, acrylic and pen. I love parts of this color combination. As many times as I see the bright green with either a pink or red it never gets old for me. It’s the only color combination I have ever felt attached to. Anyway, I have still been basing my initial shapes off of images from the cape and then altering to a more abstract form. Tomorrow looks like it may be a great day. See you then!

Day Forty

Woohoo, another milestone! I love these small challenges of days and weeks and eventually months. When I woke up this morning I had my act together enough to start painting before work. After last night I just felt like dabbling with acrylic again. By the time I went to work I had laid down the paint portion of this image and when I got in from work I just started drawing on top with pen. Not that I can’t finish things with paint, but I truly enjoy the mark of pens and markers in comparison to something so smooth. I love these shapes, which developed from photographs I took down the cape and I can’t wait to push them further. Anyway, early start tomorrow. Have a good night!

Day Thirty-Seven

Second day on the cape, sketches throughout the day of bits and pieces…. This day was full of so much inspiration from viewing different artists at loads of galleries in Provincetown and going of a few different walks around the nature preservation in the area. Not to mention the amazing eats at the Portuguese Bakery (a must hit spot on your next trip) as well as the amazing Rum Punch (Corin’s specialty) at Georges Pizza & Pub.

Day Thirty-five

Well well, apparently I enjoyed the painting method last night because here it is again. I’ve noticed I go through like weekly phases, but I never really last very long on one idea. That’s probably my biggest problem I need to concentrate on one thing. It’s funny because although this blog has totally encouraged me to do something every day I feel like it must be something new, which then leads me to a new idea every time.  Anyway, I wanted to make sure to announce something tonight since I won’t be back until hopefully Tuesday night. I am going away for the next few days for what can hopefully be described as a wonderfully inspiring mini vacation. However, since I will be staying outside of my house I wont have access to my computer and although I have an iphone I can not do the blog thing on that it would make me crazy. SO what I am really saying is that as soon as I get back I will be massive posting from the next few days, but there will be no posts for the next few nights. Of course I want you all to know that I will be, for sure, working each and every night on something, I am not slacking. It’s strange but I feel kind of weird not posting, it’s  like I’m breaking rules but then again it is my blog.  I guess I create the rules and a creative vacation with little technology is a decent one. Anyway I hope you enjoy tonight’s work, can’t wait to see what happens over the next few. See you soon!!!

Day Thirty-four!

Nice and relaxing painting session after a crazy hectic day. Worked in the morning and then had to head up to Hyde park to clean the print shop (not the most exciting task). It is funny to have to drive 2.5 hours to clean for 1, doesn’t make much sense, but when I was at the shop and thought about doing some printing I realized I had taken my inks to the house. I must admit on my drive home I was loving the gloomy foggy weather and it kind of inspired the mood of this image. This is my favorite kind of weather specially for walking in, which is what I hope to do very soon! Enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Day Thirty!!

Wow, another milestone. Like I’ve said before every date seems like a milestone for some reason or another. Today had a lot of prospect but as life typically is situations arose which led to my simple sketch tonight. When I woke this morning I had all intentions of drawing for about 3 hours but my puppy got sick and well I had to bring him to the vet instead. I was being a good mom! Since we had all six puppies in this house like 4 of them have developed some issue whether it be upset stomach or constant sneezing… who knows. What I have learned is that 6 dogs might just be too much but especially when they are going to puppy daycare and being exposed to another 10 dogs. It’s like puppy preschool, EVERYONE gets sick.

Regardless, the image makes me happy, it was totally stress free and I used Jelly roll pens which for those of you who don’t know this, many of them have sparkles so in the right light this looks totally fabulous! Time to hit the hay, another busy day tomorrow. See you next month (OMG another milestone!)
