The New Hampshire Trip…. Images 114-120

Bellow are the images created while away in New Hampshire. The trip was a great experience and although I had intended them to be drawings from life, once I arrived up there I had no real need for direct inspiration. I was inspired already. All of the images are combinations of graphite, charcoal and watercolor and are expressions of space and shape. This is the first post in which I am mass posting images and therefore there are not many close-ups of sections. If you miss that aspect I am more than happy to include them as well. Thanks for looking and Enjoy!

Images One Hundred and Fourteen, Fifteen, and Sixteen.

They are not meant to be a triptych although they do appear that way due to color, consistent size and imagery. Primarily photographing these individually was crazy long and drove me nuts.

One Hundred and Seventeen.

These image has a pink tint to it but that is not actually part of the image.

One Hundred and Eighteen.

One Hundred and Nineteen.

One Hundred and Twenty.

One Hundred and Thirteen!

First Day of vacation and so far so good, this was the first of the group. It actually had no real reference from my surroundings but the whole situation this morning was so relaxing it just was inspired. Anyway, were off again. Enjoy see you tomorrow!

Day One Hundred and Ten!

Today was a great art day, Technically I had the day off minus a short-lived meeting this morning. It was great really I had the opportunity to do loads of things that I have meaning to work on including a wall painting at the house. I finally started. I painted the first of many parts to a whole. It is completely impulsive with almost no planning which I love and luckily Mama dukes doesn’t mind a bit. Anyway, while waiting for layers of paint to dry I began a series of low stress very free wash drawings and this was the first one that I completed. These types of images always have such a freedom to them. Mistakes are completely acceptable and when things work out just right its like nature intended it to, since I barely think when I get into these. Anyway, Enjoy and I will see you tomorrow!

Day One Hundred and Nine!

I debated on whether to add more to this or not, but I have come to the conclusion that I will just do a second version that can be developed a bit more. The open spaces and light washes are something that I really enjoy. Time to head to the beach though… see you tomorrow!

One Hundred and Eight!

I’ve been doing a series of images that are very carefree and I like what happens with that. The marks seem less planned and it is a completely reactive method once the initial wash is laid down. It is fun to see the layers develop after a while. Enjoy and see you tomorrow!

Day Ninety!

Today was such a wonderful Sunday, went for a morning bike ride, went to the beach, dinner with the family, and a walk on the sea wall to finish off the day. I was able to dedicate a nice chunk of time to this painting although it is rather small. I’m excited to have been producing these small paintings just before open studios next Sunday. This image is a combination of the shapes I’m working with, as you can probably see, clusters of mushrooms, fins rocks, webs, and petals. See I work on more than just rock images! Anyway, enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow! BTW can we believe it is July already? Mental right!

Day Eighty-Seven!

Another late night Thursday posting. I wish I could get into the habit of working on pieces in the morning and posting at a reasonable hour but it just doesn’t seem to be my style. Anyway, back at the acrylics, loving the end results. I’ve had a few comments about the color and the richness which has been kind of nice to hear. On another note, OPEN STUDIOS is creeping up on me. July 8th which is a Sunday I will be showing artwork at my studio in Hull, MA. Please visit http://www.hullartists.com for more information. I always love doing open studios, not even because it gives me the opportunity to sell some of my work but really it gives me a deadline and me and deadlines work REALLY well together. Anyway, for any locals out there hope to see you there. Enjoy and I will see you tomorrow!

Day Eighty-Five!

So a continuation from Day eighty-three, another acrylic growth. Started with a central mark and just allowed it to evolve around that. I added the green to give it another element but I wish I had worked it a bit more. I guess it is all a learning experience. For instance today at work, LEARNING EXPERIENCE, unlike when you work for a major company you are forced to become a jack of all trades with small business. You learn how to be the IT girl while also schooling people on what hair and makeup products will work best for them and cleaning up flash flooding incidents. A whole lot of chaos, but it is making me a much more well-rounded person. A learning experience everyday, in both the art and working world! Haha, lets see what tomorrow brings.
