All of the following images are made in the same manner, by applying a layer of graphite completely at will with no reference and then entering the space and creating depth and layers. I had a blast making these and the following five posts. I hope you find them as interesting or intriguing as I do. Enjoy!

I guess you have to switch it up sometimes! I was getting sick of painting although I think I enjoy the color from painting a lot more than a gray-scale image. What I do love about charcoal or graphite is the subtle shifts in tone that I have yet to accomplish the same control over with paint… at the rate I am practicing though maybe someday soon! Enjoy see you next time!

I kinda of love how subtle this was before I added the dark marks in the center. I don’t mind the center but it actually felt more complete without it. Odd how that happens sometime. Enjoy and I’ll see you next time!
