Two Hundred Thirty-Nine

image

Another day another drawing and a complete shamble of images. A brief recap would tell you that you will find a lion, a ladder, a bow, a worm, an owl, a heart, and a mother banner in this image. Sounds like a pretty typical combination to me. Some of the items are actually things that I am working on for other projects, but the rest are just fillers. Enjoy and see you next time.

Two Hundred Thirty-Eight

Sometimes, if I see something that is inspiring I will just go ahead an paste it in my journal. This girls hair is fantastic and makes for a good base. This image is in the growing process and for whatever reason has started to incorporate woodland creatures. I’m pretty sure I’m still obsessed with the enchanted Forest we built at Halloween and our collection of woodland creatire cut outs. This can be confirmed from my work cubicle which still houses a skunk and deer silouette who receive glitter accessories from time to time. All I am saying is that my workspace is a good time considering I work in insurance. Enjoy!

Two Hundred Thirty-Seven

This makes me happy. This was the front of a card I drew for Liam’s Birthday. It is basically a drawn collage of a weekend away. It feels like a journal entry in itself and contains everything I want to remember but in a playful way, kind of like an eye spy image! Enjoy.

Two Hundred Thirty-Six

Ok, I know this is incomplete and simple but I love it. I think its pretty immediate but for anyone who is unsure this was based off a Dreamcatcher. I was having ridiculous dreams night after night and I could not stop it so my solution was to find a Dreamcatcher. After making my purchase, I examined the one I had bought to try and understand how it was made since I now have it in my head I want to make them. That of course is what initially started the drawing, but currently I can see it developing into something entirely different. We will have to see what more time does to the image. Enjoy!

Two Hundred Thirty-Five

Not my typical imagery, but needless to say it happened. I’m not exaclty sure what I was going for in this image either considering the sky appears to be on fire, maybe post apocolypse? If so I hope I live in a cozy cottage like this when it all goes down. I do know this happened after going to a tiny B&B in Ireland which was nestled between two “mountains” also know as large hills, not covered in trees but sheep instead. Oddly enough my experience there was rather good minus the grumpy woman who yelled at me to come down to breakfast…. doesn’t she understand we were on vacation, sleeping in from the previous nights festivities? Enjoy and see you next time.

Well these images are quite small, normally they are a bigger quality, but I have the original so I thought maybe that would be OK. Just experimenting with shapes falling into a form or protruding out of a form. Enjoy!

Two Hundred Fourteen and a few extras

This is a basic under painting for  two hundred and fourteen, obviously I don’t think this looks very good but once I enhance it there is potential! Anyway, just thought I give you a glimpse at my work in progress.photo 2

These two images above are from previous days but I went back and worked the pages a bit more. Primarily on the upper right corner and top of the age. I needed it to be more complete.  Enjoy and see you next time.

Two Hundred and Two

An exploration with Chalk Pastels, not my favorite material but the softness is quite nice. I suppose my biggest issue with the material is what to do with the image afterwards. They are so delicate and smudge so easily. I’ll use a fixative on in soon but still it does not ever seem stable enough for me. The image itself I love. I love the high intensity areas and in contrast with the less developed sections.

Two Hundred and Three!

I still like the first image better as an end result but I love the yellow-orange section of this image as well as the point where it moves from high impact color out to faint pencil lines.

One Hundred Ninety-Nine!

So I am out of paper currently, well at least the type I prefer, so I decided to back track through sketches I has started and given up on and morph them into something new. This was the beginning of one of the tattoo ideas I has made for Liam. It never even came close to being done nevermind make the cut so I decided it was the perfect base image. The other bits were added with the intent of having even more added into the image. Enjoy and see you tomorrow!
