Woke up early this morning and when I looked out at the snow I saw a cluster of shapes which at 6:30am looked like a bunch of faces. Easy image and great way to start the day. Enjoy and see you next time!

Quick doodle, made up another bird. Who doesn’t love drawing with highlighters? Enjoy and see you next time!
Back to the buildings… not for any particular reason but I was drawing a blank and well when I went to the gym I photographed a few buildings. I used them in this as well as a bunch of others of course. I don’t know why I like drawing these images but I like the piling of architecture and the wonky perspective. Enjoy and see you next time!
For those of us that post our artwork online, sometimes it gets really difficult to post for the pure fear of someone stealing your artwork and claiming it to be their own. The more I venture into this illustrative world the harder everything becomes regarding posting. I know that you can copyright things but does that actually do anything, I mean once its on the internet I feel like it’s a free for all. Anyway, I was super happy with the way this image turned out. It started from a tiny sketch of a bird with garland and developed into this fun birthday piece. The colors really work for me here, they are bold and fun and I think would draw a kid right in. I mean think about it a little bird flying around your birthday party hanging decorations? I would lose my mind! Enjoy and see you next time!
A busy weekend of painting. Really getting nervous that I may not finish this challenge on time. I have already decided that if I am not there but close in the days leading up I am taking a day or two off from work. This is one of nine images that are making up one larger piece. I can’t wait to share the collection but all in good time. Enjoy and see you next time!
Another hand. I’m sure people are all set with my hands fascination but unfortunately for you I am not! For me they seem to present themselves every time I get overwhelmed so I guess it is appropriate then. It is always amazing the emotion you can read from a single gesture of one body part. Enjoy and see you next time!
Inspired by the day, I started to write. I felt that the words were important to understanding where my mind is. Below is probably my first written entry granted it is accompanied by an image drawn in response, not my typical working method but today it felt right.
Head spinning, mind blurred I can’t seem to focus. Too many thoughts, too many faces, how did I end up here? Simple procedures never followed always lead to problems. Suddenly they all erupt, One, Two, Three, BOOM. Creeping up the totem pole before you can even breathe, all I know is they’re mad. I’m sorry, not my intentions its just my job. Maybe a blind eye would have been smart, too late now. I hate conflict … what have I started. Maybe a cup of tea will soothe my mind….sip sip, enough.
I never have liked drawing people but I love portraits so when I took the picture that I used as reference for this drawing the hands were actually the selling factor. I like the odd proportions which since I am not exactly a photo realistic painter is absolutely fine by me. It gives it character. Straight off the bat I will admit had I not drawn this in pen I would make his head a bit smaller, its kind of ginormous! Anyway enjoy and see you next time!
We went for a walk up the Fort Revere in Hull, MA. to see what the town looked like after such a snow filled winter. The image was rather interesting, fully frozen harbor on one side snow-covered everything and small masses of land just showing small bits of life here and there. The forts have always been an interesting place to visit. The forts themselves are crumbling due to a lack of funding or interest to preserve them but they still function and are currently safe to walk through. They are concrete forms built into the hillside covered partially in grass. The walls have been tagged by all locals with an assortment of words and images, nothing too impressive but regardless the color always makes for an interesting backdrop. I used this imagery as inspiration for the piece. Enjoy and see you next time!
Arriving in my hometown for the weekend always allows me to take a deep breathe in and relax. I took full advantage and started painting immediately. I probably would have painted more had it not been for the evening movie watching session but in all fairness the movie was worth watching. (In case you are curious it was The Theory of Everything.) For those who may not know, raccoon’s are one of my favorite animals, I know most people hate them and think of them as a pest but I love them. The coloration or their fur is just amazing it even comes with a complimentary mask! I always thought how cool, they are born with a superhero suit on! Not to mention their tiny little fingers! Anyway, this is just another exploration of future critters that may take a more important role in future projects. Enjoy and see you next time!
